Hello from Tokyo!
We have been here 24hrs or so and we’re already falling in love with Japan and its people again!
Sitting here in kimono and japanese slippers, green tea in hand and munching on a lovely dish of beef and rice with miso soup, I am feeling very oriental and culturally enriched!
Michael is preaching at the West Tokyo youth service tonight, though I am praying his voice and energy hold out due to having to do another 3 services tomorrow. He has also caught this virus which has gone through our family, so we are believing for total healing immediately! (also the reason I am hotel-bound in order to rest!)
Just to fill you in, we are here to help celebrate the Tokyo Jesus Life House Church’s 6th anniversary. Tomorrow will be a big day for all associated with this amazing project, which has astounded the people who thought the Japanese church would remain at an average of 30 people per congregation!
In the last 6 yrs Rod & Vivianna have grown the Tokyo church to over 700, with a congregation at Osaka of 30 in just the last few months also. There is no stopping God’s hand and work in a nation ripe for the Gospel! These congregations are not ‘transfer growth’ from other churches either, the Plummers are raising up disciples who are leading the way in the things of God from their own great nation. This is a truly miraculous work!
We have the privilege of sending a team from Shirelive very soon on a trek over here to Japan. Please support their efforts to come and serve Pastor Rod in such a ground-breaking environment . We are amazingly blessed to be involved
And I encourage you to remember them in prayer and to support them through cells and missions commitment.
Michael and I miss our wonderful church and people whenever we are away, but we know that you are praying for us as we are for you. Remember to support all God is doing on the home front, and to continue pressing forward together.
We love you church!
Valery and Michael
