CREATIVE DISCIPLESHIP “the complete picture”

As a CREATIVE team we get to do the coolest stuff!!
Music, Video, Acting, Dancing, Singing.. but we are more than just a arts club!
We are called Creative Ministries because we are MINISTERS!!!

We need a revelation of the significance of this call. We minister Gods word and God’s presence through the arts. To make him known through various creative media… To fulfill the Vision of our church through the arts. The only difference is that we don’t stand behind a pulpit. Our reach is far broader!

I want to see:
A Creative team that rallies together under Christs authority to see Him glorified through what we do and create, whilst discipling the artist through reaching them, raising them and releasing them into Creative INFLUENCE (MINISTRY)...
Ultimately shaping the character of Christian artist so when they have influence in the world, it’s Gods influence… TURNING PASSION INTO MINISTRY!

However, If we are called to be a light in the arts, we need to understand that Creative Ministry is founded primarily upon these 2 areas:
Worship & Discipleship

WORSHIP is about ASCRIBING VALUE TO GOD THROUGH WHAT WE DO… (in our case Creative expression) by putting him first and dedicating our very best to Him.
The truth is, people see God the way He is presented.. So do we present him as drab boring and lifeless?? or as excellent, energetic, alive, relevant, abundant? So worship is about glorifying God but also representing Him well.

Most importantly, we need to understand:
WHAT WE WORSHIP IS WHAT WE BECOME!

We as a team have got a good understanding of the value of worship however, we do need to understand that it is not the full picture.. and If we simply worship we are not completely doing what God has called us to do. For example, when Jesus anoints His disciples He commands them:

“go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20a).

Jesus has incorporated this practice into the very definition of being a disciple and experiencing discipleship. His disciples did ministry alongside Him, laying down their dreams to follow Him and in the process learned how to be more like Him. They were discipled through serving His ministry. In the same way, we as a team are in the unique position to disciple like-minded people through our gifting just as Jesus did - discipling through serving and keeping God in his rightful place through worship.

The fruit Christ is looking for in our lives is people - changed lives, constantly transformed to be more like Him. If we want to be complete in our calling we need to understand how to take people on the journey - worshipping Christ and becoming more Christ-like. IF we can do this we will begin to see the Creative Arts transformed, where Gods Creative people will begin to place God in His rightful place in the Arts… and the expressions of their heart will reflect him as Lord.

Remember if we dont disciple the creative Christian, the world will!
